Vite operose (2023)
Rethinking the theme of work as a tool for integration, Vite operose (Working Lives) started in Franciacorta through a commission by Berlucchi and is being developed in Bergamo and Brescia Capital of Culture 2023 with the participation of GAMeC – Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Bergamo, Fondazione Brescia Musei, and various communities of practice.
A multi-stage workshop led to the development of three key issues discussed during a series of collaborative writing sessions: the relationships between individuals and territory, education and expectations, the dignity of work and local identities.
Il lavoro ha diversi volti (Work Has Many Faces), Chi diventare? (Who to Become?), and Formiamo umanità (Forming Humanity) are three neon sculptures that replicate the participants’ handwriting. They are installed at Berlucchi Castle in Borgonato, in the courtyard of GAMeC in Bergamo, and in the Viridarium – Sculpture Park at the Santa Giulia Museum in Brescia.
