The new generation shows discontent, vulnerability, and disorientation, driven by academic pressure and the temptation of easy online earnings. At the same time, they share a strong need and urgency for new identities. In this delicate moment—aimed at overcoming social tensions and rebuilding new forms of subjectivity and social bonds—what role can artistic practice play in listening to young people’s needs and desires?
Through a series of workshops with students in the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and Contemporary Media for the Creative Industries at the University of Parma, Valerio Rocco Orlando, in dialogue with Paola di Bello, has developed research based on self-awareness and knowledge sharing, using the collection of the CSAC – Centro Studi e Archivio della Comunicazione as a catalyst for the work.
The video installation reflects the formal synthesis of a pedagogical approach that combines active listening, non-creative writing exercises, and dramaturgical and audiovisual reworking as collective actions.
